Mood word

A basic way to exercise some creative muscles and share how you're feeling.

Background

  • Preparation time: none
  • Play time: 1 minute for group prep, 1 minute per participant
  • Materials required: none
  • Minimum participants: 2
  • Maximum participants: no limit

Instructions

Give participants a moment to think of a single word that describes their mood. Encourage creative word choices, and let them know that they will be explaining why they made their choices. Once everyone has their word, go around the group, having each participant state their mood word and why they chose it.

Follow-up discussion

Questions for discussion:

  • Is there a mood that is most prevalent in the group?
  • Are there any trends in word choice for the group?
