One line life story

A fun exercise in group sharing and brevity.

Background

  • Preparation time: none
  • Play time: 2 minute group prep, 1 minute per participant to read the stories and guess
  • Materials required: none
  • Minimum participants: 4
  • Maximum participants: no limit

Instructions

Have all participants take a minute or two to write a one sentence story taken from their lives. It could be about a notable experience, a fun day, or anything they find interesting about themselves. Have participants send this via private message to the host.

After participants are finished, randomly choose a participant's story and read it to the group. Have the group try to guess who wrote the story.

Follow-up discussion

Questions for discussion:

  • Did anyone find that they have something in common with another participant?
  • Were there any trends in the story choices made by the group?
